Anderson/Leiber Partners recently became Smartvent (flood water mitigation vent) Manufacturers Representatives for Southcentral Alaska (Anchorage and Kenai Peninsula). Steve and Monika are available for consultation in regards to all of your flood water mitigation needs. Installation of Smartvents can significantly decrease flood insurance premiums as well as damage due to flood waters.
Steve and Monika have been residents of Soldotna since 1999. In addition to being Manufacturers Representatives for Smartvent, they also own and operate Soldotna B&B Lodge and Alaska Fishing Charters.
Their Lodge being located directly on the Kenai River, Steve and Monika are uniquely aware of flood risks. The Kenai River Center is aware of Smartvent technology and supports Smartvent technology for reduction of damage due to flood waters. In fact, there is a Smartvent on display at the Kenai River Center as well as documentation about Smartvent technology.
Three models in two sizes are available. Our Duel Function (Louvered) Model # 1540-510 is designed to Mitigate floodwater while providing ventilation that automatically opens and closes with temperature. This model would be used where both ventilation and flood mitigation is required, and where cold weather could freeze pipes.
The Insulated Flood Only Model # 1540-520 is also certified to mitigate floodwater, but is insulated to protect pipes from freezing temperatures. This model would be used in a conditioned space, a garage, vestibule, or office, where ventilation is not required.
The Overhead Door Model # 1540-530 is designed to install into a garage door. It can be supplied in the Insulated Flood Only or Duel Function model. This unit would be used where there is no room for vents on an exterior wall.
Sizes include 8” x 16” covering 200 Sq/Ft per unit and 16” x 16” that covers 400 Sq/Ft per unit.
